How We Used Our Tastecard

Mummy & Max Prezzo Lunch

Me and my friends often frequent Prezzo, but I'd never taken Max until this point so it seemed like a great opportunity to take him somewhere new. He's a big pizza lover so I treated him to an adult size margherita pizza, whilst I had a vegan-altered Tre Gusti, which was excellent and makes dining out so much easier for families who have mixed dietary requirements.

As you can see by the photo, we saved £8.95 on our bill as Max's pizza was free on the Tastecard 2 for 1 perk. Imagine how much a large family enjoying three courses for a special occasion could save on their bill with Tastecard!

Mummy & Max Legoland Discovery and SEA LIFE Birmingham Trip

We saved around 12% on dual entry to Legoland Discovery Birmingham and SEA LIFE Birmingham which is over the other side of the canal - quite similar to the Manchester sites, so it's a great day out for families and convenient, too. You could save more on a weekday as entry is cheaper than weekends!

We booked in at SEA LIFE first, as you have to book slots due to social distancing and capacity planning which is reassuring. The beautiful displays of tropical fish and other aquatic life are absolutely stunning to look at and a great sensory experience for children! Max enjoyed meeting the Sea Witch as part of the Halloween event, and we were given a cute goodie bag of sweets and a SEA LIFE drinks beaker at the end which we weren't expecting at all. 

After our SEA LIFE slot, we visited Legoland Discovery Birmingham... if you haven't been yet, you should definitely go!

As huge Lego lovers, there are so many exciting features of the Legoland Discovery Centre. There are three rides (one of these is technically a 4D cinema), lots of discovery and creation centres where your children can participate in Lego creation and testing sessions, a HUGE softplay, a smaller area for under 5's, an interactive MINILAND where you can tour an uncannily accurate Lego creation of Birmingham, and a brilliant little cafe for a coffee and snack.

The range of activities on offer would suit a family with children of varied ages; from baby, to pre-teen, you'll have an awesome time! If you're not local to the Midlands, there is a similar site in Manchester also included in Tastecard discounts.

Mummy & Daddy RatukenTV Film Night

Originally, we planned to go on a romantic date night for daddy's birthday, but he's not been very well recently so we decided that it was the perfect excuse to use the Tastecard Ratuken TV film rental discount perk for a snuggly night in.

Snacks? Check! Quilt? Check! Harry Potter and The Philosopher's Stone? Check!

We had a great nostalgic night in and saved money on our film too, as it's more expensive to rent Harry Potter and The Philosopher's Stone on competing services. It was so simple to purchase our code and use it on the Ratuken TV app on our Smart TV, we will definitely be using this feature again as it's so simple.

How Do I Use My Tastecard?

Using your tastecard is honestly incredibly easy. We found the process very smooth and stress-free which was helpful.

1. First, download the free Tastecard app.
2. Choose your attraction or cinema ticket choice, click GET OFFER and note your discount code
3. Follow the link provided and add the code to your basket
4. Pay, and the code applies your discount
5. Bingo, your tickets are purchased and will be in your email inbox!

For using your Tastecard to dine out, all you need is your app. It is SO easy! Log in, select your restaurant, and a QR code will appear that the staff will scan upon payment - it took us seconds to use ours.

If planning to stream a film using Ratuken TV, all you need to do is select the number of film codes you want, and what definition (SD, HD or SHD) and use your code against the film you want to watch. T & C's apply; if streaming in HD, you can use your code on any film rentals up to the value of £4.50.

Our Verdict...

For adventurous families who love to go out and about without breaking the bank, Tastecard is a serious game-changer.

Why pay more for cinema tickets, attraction visits, dining out and movie streaming (as well as other perks) when you can save so much with Tastecard? It's a no-brainer. You could utilise the free 30 day trial if you're unsure about committing to a longer membership, and if you get good use of your free Tastecard membership you'll know it's worth paying for a 6 or 12 month membership!
