If you’re pregnant with twins or you’re going to have a toddler and a baby then a double pushchair is probably at the top of your shopping list.
There are different types of double pushchairs and you’ll sometimes see them called double buggies, double prams or double strollers. What you need to decide is what style you want and the ages of your children when you’ll use it.
Double buggies tend to come in two styles, side by side and tandem. Side by side tend to be wider. Tandems “stack” on top of each other and you can often adapt them from single to double and back again so they have a better lifespan. But they’re usually heavier and longer so you need to check you can actually lift it in and out of your car. Whatever style you choose, think about your home set up too - can you get it in your front door and store it somewhere?
If you’re going to use a double pushchair for your newborn you’ll need a carrycot or seat that goes completely flat. It’s also a good idea to check if they work with car seats.
You’ve got to find the double pushchair that works for you but we know other mums often come up trumps with recommendations. So we asked our 70,000+ strong community for their top picks.
