If you’re going to feed using formula, combine breast and formula, or offer expressed milk, you’ll need a bottle.
There are all kinds of baby bottles and it’ll be a bit of trial and error to find the right one for your baby.
If you’re breastfeeding it’s best to leave introducing bottles until around 6 weeks as it can cause nipple confusion. And if you do start to use bottles look for ones that copy the shape, feel and flow of boobs.
Nearly all newborn bottles come with the slowest flowing teat but you can swap them to get a faster flow. If you’ve got a very windy or colicky baby then a slower teat can help or check out anti-colic bottles. If you’re on a budget then buy one or two bottles at a time to check they suit your baby.
You’ve got to find the baby bottle that works for you but we know other mums often come up trumps with recommendations. So we asked our 70,000+ strong community for their top picks.
