If you’ve been invited to a baby shower, no doubt one of the first things that will spring to mind will be ‘I need to find a lovely gift!’ – but where do you start?! Toys? Toiletries? Clothes?!

For me, I like to gift friends something that both mama and baby can enjoy & get use out of. Something soft, cute, but with a luxuriant feel, perfect for a delicate new baby. Muslins & swaddles are the perfect picks!

When I received a package in the post from Bamboo & Grey, I didn’t know what to expect. I was on tenterhooks as I unwrapped the bundle and was immediately taken with the presentation of the gift box. Wow!

The branding is super clear yet succinct and not in your face, and I especially loved the ribbon, it really gave the gift box a feel of ‘luxury’ and high end! If I was a mummy-to-be receiving this, I’d already be over the moon, it just looks so professional. In all, the presentation of the gift box set the bar for what was to come..

Inside were some printed muslins & swaddles – the pink & grey giraffe print is striking without being garish. Eye catching! They’re quirky, not like the standard muslins you can get on the high street.

The feel of them is most definitely one of the most important aspects to me as a new mummy, I mean, who wants their babies to be uncomfortable? These Bamboo & Grey products are of a very high standard in this regard. They’re 80% bamboo and 20% cotton, giving them a truly unique texture, and don’t feel flimsy or ‘bobbly’. Also, they didn’t look limp or dull after a whirl through the washing machine unlike lots of the muslins and swaddles I’ve used before from high street stores. They’re unbelievably lush against the skin, and ever so comforting, even when being used on sensitive areas (like my baby’s face) to wipe up dribble and possetting.

I laid a muslin over my wee one’s pod in her moses basket, to catch any potential dribble or throw-up, and as well as being a handy barf barrier, it doubled as cute bedding! I can imagine that she also enjoyed how lush & soft the fabric is, so I’d also say that they’re fab for babies with sensitive/easily irritated skin. They were gentle on her skin when I wiped up snot (lovely…) but effective at cleaning her gorgeous little face without being abrasive.

She looks so relaxed in this snap! I love the giraffe print, as well as all their other quirky prints & designs.

The Bamboo & Grey products are also excellent for swaddling! Breathable, yet warm & snug, you can see that my gorgeous girlie was smiley & content, which makes me a happy mama.
