A Sneak Peek at Asda's Christmas Food Range

It's never too early to get excited over new Christmas ranges, right?!

Asda have a given us a tantalising glimpse into their latest festive range for Christmas 2023, and we have to say, we're already putting away the ice cream and planning our Christmas dinner shopping list! They spent a whopping eighteen months working on this range so it'll be worth the wait. The prices are set to be super affordable, with the quality being out of this world.

This year Asda tells us that they're excited to launch their first signature flavour, Brown Butter and Spiced Dark Rum, after extensive trend tracking and hunting by the Asda Innovation Team, led by Senior Director of Trends and Innovation, Jonathan Moore. Brown butter is created by cooking the butter slightly past its melting point, just long enough to toast the milk solids in the butter, and Asda tells us that this releases a 'deliciously nutty flavour profile'.

The Asda team also aimed to find the next on-trend spirit, to knock gin off the number 1 spot. They arrived at spiced dark rum after seeing mixologists across the globe using it more and more. With a deep and warming flavour due to the spices, this rum is a perfect complement to winter foods!

And this is how Asda’s 2023 winter signature flavour was born and infused across a selection of their hero products - it just makes sense! Check it out what you could be tucking into next Christmas...

STARTERS

We're drooling at the look of these starters at Asda as part of their Christmas 2023 range; you can pick from Salmon and King Prawn Vol Au Vents with brown butter & Spiced dark rum sauce, Extra special charred tomato, prawn & lobster cocktail, and Extra Special Cured Salmon in signature pastrami spice blend as well as many more options set to be revealed...

This Extra Special Brown Butter & Spiced Dark Rum stollen wreath promises to be rich and delicious, we can see it as a perfect side alongside some roasted parsnip soup for a starter.

MAINS

This Extra Special Ruby Port Drenched Sirloin wowed us. It's a luxurious option for your Christmas dinner centrepiece, and is 21-day matured sirloin then soaked in Ruby port for 9 days, accompanied with a port drizzling sauce for extra juiciness.

Of course, Turkey hasn't been left off the menu. This Extra Special Slow Cooked Turkey Breast with Brown Butter & Spiced Dark Rum Stuffing is set to be popular and incorporates the signature Asda Christmas 2023 flavours.

SIDES

Who DOESN'T love pigs in blankets? Asda have unveiled their Extra Special Brown Butter & Spiced Dark Rum Stuffing Wreath with Bruleed Pigs in Blankets, Extra Special Truffle and Parmesan Pigs in Blankets, and Maple Pigs in Blankets. They all look so delicious!

BUFFET FOOD

After rocking around the Christmas tree with your friends and family, you'll need some fabulous finger foods for the buffet. Check out these Extra Special Black Tiger Tempura Prawns, Extra Special Mini Salmon& Wyke Cheddar Melt in the Middle Fishcakes, and of course, Extra Special Lobster and King Prawn Vol Au Vent Selection.

There's so many delicious buffet foods to pick from in the Asda Christmas 2023 range! The Extra Special Miso & Yusu Pulled Pork Bao Bun Kit looks beyond tasty, alongside the Extra Special Venison Lollipops with Blackberry & Sloe Gin Dip and Extra Special Truffle Porcini Mushroom Arancini. SWEET TREATS

Can you really go wrong with these Christmas donuts, with a delicious chocolate filling and festive topping?! They're a simple, easy choice for the kids.

The Asda Extra Special range really delivers on the treats front with their Extra Special Hot Chocolate Flakes, Extra Special Brown Butter & Spiced Dark Rum Flavoured Shortbread, Extra Special Swiss Truffles , Extra Special Free From Chocolate & Orange Cookie, Gingerbread House Tin, and Jingle Sweets Tin. Imagine a family night on the sofa watching films enjoying this on Christmas Eve!

The Jingle Range is set to be a hit with the kids! We've spotted Milk Chocolate Jingle the Reindeer figures, a Jingle Chocolate Reindeer Cake, Jingle Reindeer Lollipops, Free From Choc Caramel Flavour Jingle the Reindeers, and Jingle the Reindeer Sprinkles.

Our verdict...

Our mouths are watering at the festive fare set to hit the shelves at Asda for Christmas 2023! The whole family will be fed, watered and most importantly, merry, after this feast. We're particularly excited by the delicious Jingle range of sweet treats and know that our kids will be too. Keep an eye out as we approach Christmas, as Asda's Christmas food selections are often extremely popular (and for good reason).
