Did you know that it's World Book Day on the 2nd March 2023 and what it's all about?
World Book Day first took place in the UK in 1997 with an aim to promote the love of reading and the enjoyment of books, particularly among children and young adults. Children are given a World Book Day £1 token (usually at school) which you can exchange for a £1 book at any participating book store.
We were thrilled to learn that one of our firm favourites, The Works are participating in World Book Day this year. Simply pop into your local store (instore only) and swap your £1 book token to receive a free £1 book or you can get £1 off any books priced £2.99 and over *exclusions apply. You can claim your free book until 26th March so plenty of time to get yourself into store.
You've probably already had the letter from school about the kids dressing up as their favourite book character - it's an amazing way to get kids talking about the books they've read and stories they enjoyed.
Whether you're going homemade or shop bought - there are lots of options out there when it comes to World Book Day costumes BUT you do need to get organised as you don't have long left. So take this as your sign to get your costume sorted now.
It's ok to not purchase a new costume every year and with the cost of living biting, those of you with lots of children may be looking for homemade costume ideas. It can be so fun to put your imagination to use and create your very own crafted costume!
