Mummies, daddies… Have you ever felt like you can’t get ANYTHING done because your little one wants you?
If you’re the parent of a child who likes to get involved in everything that you do, or always finds a way to sidetrack you from your tasks, then this simple trick won’t cost a fortune and may buy you precious time to crack on. All you need are four things…
- A tub
- Clean water
- A clean paintbrush
- A wall/floor/surface that will show marks when wet that you do not mind becoming wet
Setting your little one up with the task of ‘painting’ a special surface will keep them entertained and they’ll feel like they’re accomplishing something special! Give them plenty of praise and encouragement, and you’ll hopefully get a good 30 minutes (possibly more) to get key jobs done. This can be done indoors and outdoors but it’s more ideal in the summer outdoors.
I do this in the summer when I need to mow the lawn without a curious toddler trying to climb into the mower and it works for us! I hope that this simple and cheap hack helps you, too.
(P.S. The brush was a bit stained from old paint but it was clean and only dipped in water in a rubber washing basket)
