Why Is Everyone Excited To Wear Jeans On Friday?

Got any plans for Friday? Time to get out your favourite pair of jeans and show your support Jeans for Genes!

There are between 4,000 and 6,000 diagnosed genetic disorders found so far.

This means that 1 in 25 children are affected by a genetic disorder. and therefore 30,000 babies and children are diagnosed in the UK each year.

Whilst some genetic disorders are apparent at birth, many others are diagnosed at different stages of a child’s life. Some circumstances, even later into adulthood.

£50 pays for a parent to attend a support day where they’ll get the advice and guidance they need to care for their disabled child.

All money raised for Jeans for Genes Day provide grants towards day-to-day support, equipment, nursing and patient support services, and events which bring together affected children and their families.

It takes just one fault to cause a catastrophic error for a child to be blind, confined to a wheelchair or living a life in chronic pain.

£350 will pay for a child with a genetic disorder to spend a weekend away with other children like them, supported by trained medical staff.

£750 pays will pay for a specialist nurse to care for a child with a genetic disorder after a bone marrow transplant.
