Many eateries and shops are offering freebies, discounts and special access to NHS staff during the covid-19 outbreak.

We’ve worked to put together this regularly updated guide to where any qualifying person can grab a free or discounted bite to eat, and grab their groceries without having to deal with the hustle and bustle of crowds of shoppers.

Supermarkets:

Tesco: One hour before Sunday opening time, with valid NHS ID.

Morrisons: 7am-8am, Monday-Saturday, with valid NHS ID.

M&S: First hour of trading every Tuesday and Thursday for NHS and Emergency Service workers, with valid ID.

Asda: 8am-9am, Monday-Wednesday-Friday, with valid NHS ID.

Iceland: Final hour of trading each day for NHS staff only, with valid NHS ID.

Sainsbury’s: 8am-9am, Monday-Wednesday-Friday, to all NHS staff and also Social Care workers, with valid ID.

Eateries:

Sadly, some of the eateries that have previously offered NHS discounts and freebies have closed even for takeaway meals for safety reasons – McDonald’s, Caffe Nero and Starbucks are examples. We will amend this list if any other eateries included close down fully.
