5 things you learn being a mum of 2

5 things you learn being a mum of 2

1. When you first find out you’re pregnant with your 2nd, you can’t imagine ever being able to love another child like your 1st. I was convinced I wouldn’t love him and was apprehensive that I would resent him for breaking the bond between me and my eldest and i’d be upset that it wasn’t just the two of us. I carried these thoughts right until the moment I pushed him out and then…They were gone. This tiny new creature was now here and I loved him. A different love to the one I felt for my eldest, my partner, anyone else, a unique love and bond instantly formed. I wish I could tell everyone else who worries that it’ll be fine but until you experience it you don’t quite believe it.

2. You’ll spend most of the day saying ‘Leave him alone’, ‘Stop touching him’ and ‘Get off him’. I expected jealousy but didn’t expect how much they love each other. How obsessed the big one is with the lil one and how the lil one grins at the big one all the time. It’s so heartwarming.

3. Washing! My gosh it never ends! How much washing can 2 small people make!?

4. Your entire world is just kids. With one, you might get a bit of me time, time to do things you enjoy but with 2, 1 always needs you. From the moment you wake up to the moment you go to sleep. It’s so rewarding but so exhausting.

5. You will constantly compare them. Of course, they are 2 completely individual small humans but you’ll find yourself saying ‘well my 1st did this or did that’ and you can’t stop yourself from saying it.
Having 2 kids is amazing and after all the worry of going from 1 to 2, if I had the money i’d happily go from 2 to more!
