It's Winnie The Pooh Day This Week And We Can't Wait

Are you ready to celebrate Winnie The Pooh day? Many gear up to celebrate their favourite childhood friends on the 18th January, but why is there a day dedication to him?

The 18th January is a special day for a lot of people. Winnie The Pooh for me is something I’ve held dearly because it/he is something that everyone in my family, different generations, have connected with. We all have a love for Winnie and the hundred acre wood family.

This holiday is bear’y special because it’s celebrated on the birthday of author and creator, A A Milne.

He was born 18th January 1988. And every year, the occasion is marked with events such as teddy bears’ picnics, with honey featured on the menu.

We first saw Winnie The Pooh in 1926, with his best friends Piglet, Tigger, Eeyore, Owl and Rabbit. All were based on toys owned by the author’s son, Christopher Robin, who also featured in the famous stories.

Ways To Celebrate:

  • Read a Winnie The Pooh book to your little one.
  • Hold a tea party or picnic with your Pooh bear and friends.
  • Winnie The Pooh inspired craft activities.
  • Have a Winnie The Pooh movie marathon.
  • Visit Pooh Corner in Hartfield, East Sussex, where the books were written.

Did You Know?

Did you know that if you went to Pooh Corner in East Sussex, you can pick up a map walk through your own local “Hundred Acre Wood” to find “The Enchanted Place”. You can even play a game of Pooh-sticks on the original bridge! Doesn’t that sound amazing?!

Are you excited to celebrate Winnie The Pooh’s big day?
