Recall Alert: Sweet Fashion 'Frozen Doll'

The European Commission has issued a recall of the Sweet Fashion ‘Frozen Doll’.

Manufactured in China and with not much information with regards to retailers who sell this toy, or batch numbers affected, it’s likely that this is a toy not sold in most well known stores – perhaps it can be found in small independent stores, market stalls or arcades. If you know who manufacturers this doll and where it is sold in the UK, please let us know in the comments.

We cannot verify if this toy is an official Disney Frozen product or not – we are assuming that it is not as the writing on the box is ‘nonsensical’ according to the Trading Standards website.

Why has this product been recalled?

The plastic material of the product contains an excessive amount of bis(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP) (measured values: 35.5 % by weight). This phthalate may harm the health of children, causing possible damage to their reproductive system. The product does not comply with the REACH Regulation.

What action can I take?

Don’t let your children continue playing with this doll; return it to where it was purchased and inform the store/venue of this recall, and discuss a refund.

Love from Katie & Team BBY. Xx

(Disclaimer – there is no evidence that this is an official Disney Frozen trademarked product, the information so far seems to suggest that it is not genuine merchandise.)
