The NHS has shared some excellent news for new parents!
The success of the PCV (Pneumococcal vaccine) has been SO good since 2006 that Public Health England and the NHS now feel that babies will only need 2 doses at their scheduled vaccination appointments if they’re born from the 1st of January 2020. This means 2 injections (as well as the oral rotavirus vaccine) rather than 3, which we know will reassure a lot of parents – no one likes to see their baby upset, and 2 means a little less upset than 3!
It’s fantastic news that this vaccine has been so effective against Pneumococcal disease – thank you to our NHS!
