Family Meal Plan

Hello and welcome to my family meal plan – week 3. I love reading all of your comments on how meal planning helps everyone.

As the weather is colder, I’m trying to incorporate more heartier, comfort meals. Our slow cooker broke the other week, so I’m hoping to get one in the black Friday deals, as we love good a slow cooker meal in this house. I’ll hopefully be adding slow cooker meals to the meal plan then and some more German recipes. I got pages full of my own recipes that I will add to the plans over the next few months.

You can find last week’s family meal plan here. And to make things even easier, I have also pinned all the recipes into a weekly meal section on my Pinterest. Just click here to find the Pinterest board. If you follow the board, you get notifications when I upload a new meal plan.

Let’s get to the family meal plan for next week.

MONDAY – BRATKARTOFFLEN (GERMAN FRIED POTATOES)

Now I know this might not look as appetising, but trust me it is. This meal is so simple, you’ll never need a recipe again after making it for the first time. It’s one of my favourite meals from back home and so quick and easy to make. You can also cook the potatoes the day before with the skin on and peel them afterwards, that’s how I have always done it. We like to have fried eggs as a side dish for this.

You can find the recipe here.

TUESDAY – TACO BELL’S CRUNCHWRAP SUPREME COPYCAT

As mentioned last week, we love Mexican food in this house. I love Taco Bell and would have it any day over other fast food outlets. Unfortunately the city we live in now, doesn’t have one. But this homemade Crunchwrap Supreme tastes even better than the original. It’s packed with veggies and cheese of course.

You can find the recipe here.

WEDNESDAY – SPINACH STUFFED CHICKEN

This is super quick and yummy meal, its low carb and can be ready in just 35 minutes. It goes nicely with a side of sweet potatoes fries.

You can find the recipe here.

THURSDAY – BANGERS AND MASH

This probably a kids favourite, I’m yet to meet a child who doesn’t like sausages and mash covered in gravy. We prefer onion gravy, but you can also use normal gravy.

You can find the recipe here.

FRIDAY – PARMESAN CRUSTED COD

Fish Friday anyone? This is bit of a different spin on Cod and it’s absolutely delicious. Put it in the oven with some fresh broccoli and serve it with rice or mash.

You can find the recipe here.

SATURDAY – GRILLED CHICKEN SKEWERS

Saturday’s are always quite busy in our house. I prefer meals that I can prepare in the morning or that are quick to make. These chicken skewers/kebabs are really nice and healthy. We love adding halloumi and more peppers to them. My daughter likes to stack them up herself. We normally serve it with salad, tzatziki and pitta bread.

You can find the recipe here.

SUNDAY – PORK WITH PEPPERS AND MUSHROOMS

This is sort of like goulash, but not quite. Either way it’s really delicious and perfect for those chilly autumn days. This is also works well in the slow cooker. We serve it with pasta, mash or even rice.

You can find the recipe here.

That’s it for this week’s meal plan, let me know what you think of the meals. I would love to hear your favourite recipes, we are always looking for new ones to try.

Last but not least, I will be uploading the meal plan for the following week every Saturday morning. If you like the weekly meal, I would love for you to subscribe to my mailing list, so you never miss a new post.

Hi, Im Sarah and the person behind This German Mama. Im a proud military wife and mum of two, to Miley who is 7 and Carter who was born in July 2019. I started this blog in autumn 2019 and love writing about all things family, parenting and lifestyle. I love to bake and cook, the first is something I dont always have time for with young baby. But my love for cooking and baking is why I have recently started to share some of my own recipes. Having a family is all about planning for me and this why I have weekly family meal plans and started uploading them weekly to my blog. We love spending time outdoors, exploring new places, baking together, playing board games and everything Disney related.
