Strangest Baby Names That Are Banned In 2018

So you’re pregnant, now you have to choose a baby name! But when picking baby a name, you have to make sure you’re not falling in love with one that’s on the banned register first…

Yes, that is correct – some countries have a register for banned names!

Sitting with your partner and writing names or reading them from the internet, trying to pick a name for your blossoming bump is such a stressful task.

9 out of 10 times, it ends with one of you not agreeing with the other’s choice and you just want your head to pop so you don’t have to think anymore!

Now there is a surprising amount of banned names. Depending on what country you are in, you cannot name a child a certain name.

‘Tom’ is banned by the Portuguese authorities as it’s classed as a nickname. Tomás would be acceptable, but not a slimmed down version like ‘Tom’.

In Saudi Arabia names such as Alice, Elaine, Linda & Lauren are not allowed.
