To My Mum - The Woman Who Made Me Who I Am

A post that’s long overdue…

Lily is now 6 months old. It has been the most joyful, exhausting six months of my life. Everyday I notice something different. A new trick, a smile, a laugh.

Everyday I discover more and more, strength and love I never knew I had, that I need to be a mother.

This in itself makes me think more about my own mum, and have so much love and appreciation for everything she has done for me.

My mother is the first person I call, when something great happens, when something sad happens, when I need advice or when I just need a chat in general.

She listens to me moan about nothing, about everything, gives me sound advice and calls me out when I am wrong.

She is the person who helped shape who I have become today, and the type of mother I try everyday to be.
I can only hope that in the future, Lily has half as much, love and admiration for me that I have for my mum.
