Ever Thought, I Should Be Paid For This?

Helloooo Mummies and Daddies!

You know when you have one of those days when, you’ve done everything and not even had a thanks? And just mutter under your voice, ‘I should be paid for this’. Well there is a website that tells you how much you could earn as a stay at home parent!

I’ve often joked with my husband when he says he’s had a hard day working. But sometimes I feel he forgets I work too, 24 hours a bloody day non stop. Keeping our child alive, feeding her, bathing her and not to mention the house work, the upkeep of pets and driving from A to Z all day. I would love to be a paid for it!

It’s been added up that if we were actually paid to be a mum, we could be earning a whopping £80,000 a year! This is roughly the same amount that our GP’s, pilots and lawyers are earning.

A survey was completed by 1,200 British mothers and it was revealed that on average, every day that they would spend four hours cleaning and generally tidying the home. Two hours was spent on preparing meals and one hour on laundry. Not to mention the overall time of being a full time parent, summoned whenever needed.

44% of the households that took part also said they owned a pet and two thirds of mothers in this percentage said they did everything from feeding, bathing and walking them.

It was discovered that 74% of the mothers felt they did most of the chores around the house and an incredible 67% said they felt almost completely responsible for their children.

Bidvine.com co-founder, Russ Morgan, said,

“As an online services marketplace we have great insight into the jobs market, and there isn’t another job in the world which takes up 24 hours a day 365 days a year without any holidays or breaks! With Mother’s Day coming up we wanted to highlight just how hard mums work. We’ve also built the calculator so that other mums or dads can see how much they could be earning as a bit of fun.”

Fancy checking it out and seeing how much you could be earning? Check out this online calculator.

After giving it a whirl myself, I could be earing £95,628!

The lesson here is, when you next say to your partner ‘well you haven’t been working all day’, just take a second to think if you could last a day or even a month doing what that person does day in – day out! Share the love and the gratitude.

I really hope you’ve enjoyed this blog!
