Baby Loss Awareness: Wave of Light 2019

7pm on the 15th of October marks the Baby Loss Awareness Wave of Light!

What is the Baby Loss Awareness Wave of Light?

The ‘Wave of Light’ marks the end of Baby Loss Awareness Week (9-15 October), and is also International Pregnancy & Infant Loss Remembrance Day.

The Wave of Light is a global event, giving us all an opportunity to support those in our lives who’ve experienced baby loss. By lighting a candle at 7pm on the 15th and letting it burn for at least an hour, you’re joining a global ‘wave of light’ in memory of all the babies who’ve left us. You can do this at home by yourself, or in a group with others – contact your local hospitals and groups to find an event near you.

How else can I get involved?

  • Share your experiences or posts supporting those in your life who have experienced baby loss, using the hashtag #BLAW2019. You can also tag @babyloss on Instagram.
  • Use these specially designed graphics on your social media.
  • Watch and share this video.

Real Parents, Real Stories

Speaking out and sharing insight goes a very long way in helping to raise awareness and removing the stigma behind baby loss. You’re not alone – very sadly, baby loss affects 1 in 4, but many feel unable to reach out for desperately needed support. We want this to change!
